  While the Canadian Pain Society may have fallen short on Pain Awareness week, the American Society of Pain Educators did not!! Please go to: www.painawareness.org to check out the enormity of educational events (archived) provided for September 2006 Pain Awareness Month.

  Paul I can't begin to imagine the amount of pain you must suffer on a daily basis. I know what I experience from the damage to my pelvic wall, and it sounds like its minor compared to your hell. Why is it that all the treatments for chronic pain sound like they are worse than the ailment, that sounds damned scary what they've done to you. I'm getting trigger point injections every four weeks in an attempt to break up the cluster of spasmed muscles that have caused the myofacial layer to contort around all the nerve endings in my pelvic wall. That means we have to inject the pain spots each time - oi does that let you know your alive and does the air ever turn blue. Like you I've been pretty fortunate in that I've a Pain doctor who cares and takes my pain as a personal insult that he hasn't been able to figure it out yet, and have gps who don't have a problem with morphine so I've at least got some pain control medication without having to fight anyone for it. Of course I've run into the other type of doctor and because of that jerk I ended up in emergancy with body shock and horrible pain. Good luck with your treatments - is it working at all? Have you tried trigger points or wouldn't they be effective - and hang in there. cheers Richard Marcus

  What i good article thanks,, so many people don't understand ,and worse they don't try to,,I have people who have compairred my pain from anything from a sunburn to a headache,,to almost any operastion they have had,,I have had my back worked on over 12 times I have a stimulater through my spine to try and waken the nerves in my legs, my neck fused and 2 disc replaced ,than a metal plate put on to hold them in place, I have days I can't even get out of bed,,Migraines so bad that I don't even know where I am,,but people just don't get it, thank God I found a docter that at least tries to help..and bills from credit cards company, that just keep building up as I can't work,,even though I took out insurance on the cards it is a joke nothing gets paid,,,,anyway thanks for your message, stay in touch Paul
